Somerset County, Pennsylvania, has an immediate opening for an Official Court Reporter in the Court of Common Pleas.  Duties include stenographically recording criminal/civil trials and proceedings as well as all other matters heard before the Court.  This 35-hour-per-week position starts at $60,000 -65,000 with additional income earned by producing verbatim transcripts and yearly percentage increases. The position includes benefits of medical insurance and prescriptions, paid vacation, personal time, sick leave, 13 holidays, and participation in the County of Somerset’s pension program. Lancaster County Courthouse has an immediate job opening for a full-time official court reporter.  Duties include reporting verbatim criminal and civil trials, family court, along with any other matters heard before the Court.   This 37.5 hour-per-week position offers a competitive salary along with paid holidays, vacation, sick and personal time, medical, dental and vision insurance, along with a desirable pension plan.  In addition to salary, reporters earn extra income from producing transcripts.  Reporters are required to provide their own equipment and will receive a generous stipend every month to cover said expenses.     We welcome newly-graduated reporters to start their career with us in beautiful downtown Lancaster, PA.

Official Court Reporter – Cambria County

This 35-hour-per-week position has a starting hourly pay rate of $30.52 with additional income earned by transcript/order production.  Duties require the use of a stenotype machine to accurately take down verbatim testimony in a variety of court proceedings.  Qualified applicants must have graduated from an accredited court reporting school.  Two years of stenographic experience is preferred, but not required.  Other duties include, but are not limited to, attending scheduled court proceedings; transcribing, proofreading, and producing transcripts and court orders in a timely manner; as well as handling exhibits and other official documents, and swearing in witnesses. 

Writer, software, software support, IT support, and all other equipment are provided.  Professional association fees and approved continuing education requirement costs are paid by the County.   Benefits include paid holidays, paid time off, retirement plan, and medical/dental/vision coverage.  The County offers a buyout if medical coverage is not needed.

Official Court Reporter - Columbia/Montour Counties

The 26th Judicial District, Columbia and Montour Counties, has an opening for a full time position, 37.5 hours per week.  The starting salary is $37,850, additional income is earned by processing requested transcripts.  There is a benefit package included.  Reporters are to use a stenotype machine to type verbatim testimony in a variety of court proceedings.  Experience is preferred but not required.  Other work includes transcribing, proofreading and producing court orders and transcripts in a timely manner as well as responsibility for exhibits.  Knowledge of English grammar, attention to detail and accuracy with an expected typing ability of words per minute of 180 literary, 200 jury charge and 225 two voice question and answer.  A letter of interest, resume and three references should be sent to the following:
