Hello, District 7!

I hope you’re all staying healthy and happy (and keeping your sanity!) during COVID-19.

Now more than ever it is important that we stay engaged in what is happening in the world of reporting.  PCRA wants your input on how we can help you.  All we ask in return is for your support -- as a member, as a volunteer, as an ambassador for our profession.

We will have our 2020 District 7 meeting on Monday, April 20, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom video conferencing.  As you know, our District Director relocated to North Carolina and we will be electing a NEW District 7 Director.

The sacrifices we’re making as a nation are accelerating development of “workarounds” to keep our businesses, courts, and educational systems moving forward.  Please be a voice shaping our future.  We all want to take the very best of what we’re experiencing now and build upon it for the future, ours and those coming …

During our meeting, we will share with you what PCRA has been doing. We sought and were granted a temporary waiver of the requirement of personal presence when swearing witnesses.  Did you consider that a significant win for Pennsylvania’s freelance reporters? What would YOU do to change that temporary waiver to a permanent exemption?

Please join me via Zoom on April 20, 2020, at 6:30 to participate in District 7’s annual meeting.  If you have anything you want to put on the agenda, send me an email.  All reporters are invited to attend and participate, but only those members in good standing are permitted to make motions and vote.
